El Camino Seguro Continues To Grow
El Camino Seguro welcomes a new certified peer support mentor, Jennifer James, to its staff and two new recovery circle leaders, Carlos Anguiano and
Rodolfo, aka Puma, Quevedo (pictured).
2023 has been a year of substantive growth for El Camino Seguro, our culturally and linguistically specific recovery program for our Latino community. We began the year with 13 members and two certified peer support mentors. As we close the year, we have 32 members, 4 certified peer mentors, 3 recovery circles and Luz de Speranza, an Al-Anon support group. However, El Camino Seguro is about much more than the numbers and it’s more than just a program. It is a family of people who share a common language, culture, and goal: to recover from alcohol and drug addiction. It is a place where everyone is loved and accepted, regardless of their past or citizenship status. It is a path to recovery that is guided by the practice that the only way we keep what we have is to give it to others.
