Leading a Recovery Circle:
Kane Cottle, Circle Leader
When I first found sobriety, I explored many different recovery groups and meetings, searching for a place where I truly belonged. That journey led me to Recovery Café, where I enrolled in a Circle and found my home. Having a safe space to connect with others in recovery helped me navigate ROC Court, build meaningful relationships, and develop a strong support system. Without the trust, friendships, and guidance I found at the Café, I wouldn’t have the life I have today.
As I grew in my own recovery, I felt called to give back. Becoming a Circle Leader allowed me to share the same compassion, understanding, and love that I once received. Watching others overcome barriers and grow in their everyday lives inspires me to keep showing up- not just for myself, but for them as well.
Being a Circle Leader has also challenged me in ways I never expected. It has pushed me out of my comfort zone, helped me gain confidence in public speaking, and strengthened my communication skills. These
experiences have carried over into my work as a Peer Support Specialist, allowing me to support others more effectively.
To me, being a Circle Leader is about more than just leading a group – it’s about walking alongside others in their recovery, growing together, and creating a community where no one has to do it alone.

Hello!
I am a grateful recovering addict who is blessed to have life experiences of not only addiction but prison, foster care, and the ability to have compassion for those who are still struggling. I believe the difference we can make in each other’s lives is by being the best version of ourselves to those we serve, love, and support. My recovery is an absolute reflection of who I am as a person and what I can offer. I strive to lead by example and make a lasting impression on everyone I encounter in one form or another.
